What Is A Stroke?

A stroke is a sudden interruption in the blood supply of your brain. When this happens, brain cells are deprived of oxygen and begin to die, and abilities controlled by that area of the brain such as memory and muscle control are lost. Symptoms of stroke can include sudden numbness, confusion, trouble seeing, walking, and a sudden severe headache. Stroke is the number one cause of adult disability in the United States.
