What Is Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in your mood, energy, and activity levels. Symptoms can include mood swings, risk taking behaviors, disorganized things, restlessness, and self-harm. About 4% of the population suffers from bipolar disorder.
